Isaiah 4

Chapter 4 in 30 seconds

Seven women chase one man and offer to pay their own bills, which tells you how many men are left. But then the mood changes. The Branch of Yahweh shows up beautiful and glorious, the survivors are called holy, and God covers Zion with a cloud by day and fire by night, just like the old Exodus days.

A Remnant in Zion

1In that day seven women

will take hold of one man and say,

“We will eat our own bread

and provide our own clothes.

Just let us be called by your name.

Take away our disgrace!”

2On that day the Branch of Yahweh

will be beautiful and glorious,

and the fruit of the land

will be the pride and glory of Israel’s survivors.

3Whoever remains in Zion

and whoever is left in Jerusalem

will be called holy—

all in Jerusalem who are recorded among the living—

4when the Lord has washed away

the filth of the daughters of Zion

and cleansed the bloodstains from the heart of Jerusalem

by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire.

5Then Yahweh will create over all of Mount Zion

and over her assemblies

a cloud of smoke by day

and a glowing flame of fire by night.

For over all the glory

there will be a canopy,

  • IS 4:5[PROPHECY]'A cloud by day, the shining of fire by night' → STILL TO COMEMEDIUM

6a shelter to give shade

from the heat by day,

and a refuge and hiding place

from the storm and the rain.

What do the colors mean?

Each color marks one kind of verse: lime green for prophecies about the Messiah, teal for miracles, sand for archaeology, and so on. Tap any color in the chapter key to turn it off. Use Customize to choose exactly which ones you see.

Can I read without highlights?

Yes. Turn off the Highlights switch at the top for plain text. Your choice is remembered on this device.

Do the other translations have the colors too?

Yes. The colors, red letters, bloodline names and study notes come from TOM and are matched to every other translation verse by verse, so you can read the KJV, NIV or any other translation here with the same study helps.
